Color loss occurs when strong chemicals come in contact with the carpet. Many chemicals and substances have the ability to cause color loss. They include chlorine bleach, powdered bleach, benzoyl peroxide, urine, fecal matter, contact lens cleaner, mold and mildew stain remover, disinfectants and sanitizers, pesticides, pet shampoos, plant food, perfumes, drain cleaners, toilet bowl cleaners, solvents, and other cleaners. When these substances are spilled, dripped, or tracked onto the carpet, they can begin to cause degradation of the carpet dye resulting in a color loss.

Corrections – Many color loss issues can be corrected using a spot dyeing process to match the color. This is especially true on Nylon and wool carpet.
